ReMarkable, maker of the gorgeous, sleek notebook you see in these photos, is doing remarkably well, according to its backers. Just as many iPad owners love their tablets and prefer them to laptops, reMarkable notebook owners love their e-ink tablets despite—or perhaps because of—their limitations.
"To say I LOVE traditional notebooks is an understatement. I have too many calligraphy pens to count, I have a whole bookshelf full of notebooks that I find too pretty to write in, and my oldest daughter is named Avery (the idea came from my favorite office supplies)," Amanda Holdsworth, e-ink notebook superfan and PR consultant, told Lifewire via email. "So when I switched to a Remarkable 2 e-ink notebook two months ago, no one in my inner circle thought I would keep it. Let me put it this way: My pen and paper notebooks are lonely."
Just as an iPad can do less than a MacBook but some things better, a reMarkable or other e-ink notebook can do much less than an iPad but is better at some things.
