According to a new report from IGN, the Halloween franchise is getting not one, but two games in the future. While not much was revealed about what these games would be about or how exactly they would play, the report did indicate that those who do play the game will be able to relive some of their favorite moments from the franchise. Considering how long and influential the Halloween franchise is, with the most recent game coming out less than two years ago, there's definitely a lot to draw from when it comes to iconic moments.
Both games are being developed by Boss Team Games, known for developing the asymmetrical multiplayer game Evil Dead: The Game, in which gamers can play as Ash Williams and his allies or as a Kandarian Demon, battling it out in locations based on the films. One of the games is being developed using Unreal Engine 5, but it's unclear which engine the other will use. But what makes the prospect of these two Halloween games interesting is that John Carpenter, the director of the original 1978 classic, will be involved in the production.
In the report, Carpenter said he was excited to join the project because he's a "huge gamer," and that he hopes to "scare the hell out of you" with these new games.
