The idea behind TikTok Now is to give you and your friends a little nudge to share more of your “authentic moments” on the platform. TikTok hopes to combine the more typical video production and sharing experience with something a little more personal and potentially less planned.
At its core, TikTok Now is a combination of Memories and dual-camera snapshots. Once a day, the app prompts you to take a snapshot or record a 10-second video, capturing that specific moment. You can then take a photo of what you’re doing or what’s happening around you, or record something quick using both the front and rear cameras at the same time.
Many of TikTok’s safety and privacy policies also apply to TikTok Now. You control who can see and comment on your TikTok Now posts, with an option to limit them to friends only if that’s your preference. Or you can open them up to “everyone near you.”
