Timo Tjahjanto, the Indonesian genre film director who has a hugely loyal following, has released a trailer for his upcoming action film “The Shadow Strays”.

Toronto International Film Festival audiences will get a first look at the finished film when it screens in the festival’s Midnight Madness section, before being uploaded to Netflix on October 17.

According to an included synopsis, the film "follows the story of Codename 13, a young assassin who is suspended from duty after a failed mission. During her time off, she befriends Monji, a boy who recently lost his mother to a crime syndicate. When Monji disappears, 13 sets out to find him, even if it means going against her mentor and the organization she's affiliated with, The Shadows."

The film delves deep into themes of redemption and loyalty, set against the backdrop of a brutal and ruthless underworld. "Audiences can expect Tjahjanto's signature style, with expertly choreographed action sequences," Netflix said.
