Tinder has announced that it is rolling out the ID verification feature to all of its members worldwide.
Tinder Adds ID Verification Option for All Users
The announcement was made in a press release on Tinder's Newsroom blog, where the feature was revealed and said to be arriving "in the coming quarters." According to TechCrunch, ID verification will allow users to verify their identity by uploading documentation, such as a driver's license or passport.
Tinder uses ID verification to compare user data to sex offender registries, if that information is accessible. According to the app's terms of service, users must not have been convicted of or "pleaded to a felony [or] sex offense"…" and be registered as a sex offender.
Tinder is constantly working to increase the safety of its users and ensure that they know they are talking to a legitimate person.
