As someone who’s put a lot of time and effort into VALORANT on PC, the concept of playing Riot’s tactical 5v5 first-person shooter with an Xbox controller is intriguing. And after just a few matches in the console beta, I’ve definitely learned a thing or two.
Proof I can Hospital Flick in Valorant
While it’s highly unlikely that I’ll be making the switch to console entirely, playing VALORANT on console comes with its own unique challenges, including challenges that may only affect players coming from PC. For those trying it on console after playing on PC, prepare for a very strange feeling at first, but make use of these tips.
In the revamped tutorial, the game explains that you can move silently by moving your left stick slightly instead of moving it all the way to run. It feels strange not having a dedicated, clear input for running, but there is a solution: use Focus.
Focus is the new pinpoint aiming mechanic exclusive to VALORANT on consoles, but using Focus (left trigger by default) will automatically force your player to walk. While your aim sensitivity is drastically reduced, using Focus is great for sneaking up while maintaining a specific angle.
