Project Zomboid is easily one of my favorite games of all time, but as awesome as it is, it’s just one of those games that skyrockets when you mod it to the skies. Here I’ll list the 25 best Project Zomboid mods you need to know about.
You MUST try this Project Zomboid Mod
This list won’t be ranked (except for the last five, which I consider the crème de la crème), as it’s nearly impossible to rank mods that can vary so widely. There won’t be any excuses here either; there won’t be 15 entries for the KI5 vehicle collection, and where necessary I’ll point out mod series and individual items. The same goes for framework mods (as in #1), where the framework itself is ranked, and any add-ons are up to you.
Common Sense is a pretty simple mod, but one that I can't live without. It does exactly what you'd expect, adding a bunch of interactions that just… make sense. Prying open doors when you have a crowbar in your inventory, opening canned food with knives, crafting sheets, and more. If you think you can do it, chances are this mod will add it.
I love root beer. I really do, and I also really love movie theater popcorn. So what if you could have those things in Project Zomboid? Well, with the Functional Appliances mod, you can. Add a variety of interactive appliances around the world, like soda machines, hot dog rollers, industrial deep fryers, and more. Nearly all of these appliances can be moved around too, meaning you too can realize your dream of filling a modest suburban home with industrial kitchen appliances.
