From time to time, a few League of Legends champions reign supreme in unconventional positions, usually after some minor changes to them or their core items. Recently, one such champion has returned to the mid lane among high-ranking players.
The Difference Between GOOD and BAD Mid Laners – League of Legends
That champion is none other than Tryndamere, who is not exactly a newcomer to the mid lane, as he has been picked there occasionally in the past. However, he has not been seen that often in the mid or top lane in recent months, due to his lack of strength. In Patch 14.10, however, he has truly dominated at the higher ranks. At the time of writing, Tryndamere has a win rate of 56.09 percent in Diamond+ ranks, according to League stats site U.GG.
Such a massive win rate puts Tryndamere significantly ahead of Rumble, Akshan, or Cassiopeia, who have already surpassed the 53 percent threshold. But with a win rate of over 56 percent, Tryndamere seems to be in a class of its own, at least for now. His stellar results aren’t random, either, as Diamond+ players have picked him in 2,446 games as of Patch 14.10 at the time of writing.
Luckily for them, mid laners should know a thing or two about laning against Tryndamere. This isn’t the first time the Barbarian has appeared in that position, as he’s been a flex pick there for years. Even pro players like Faker have picked Tryndamere mid in the past to abuse their enemies early on.
