While Trading has been in the game since the beginning, Bartering is a new mechanic added in Diablo 4’s Vessel of Hatred expansion, and it’s not based on exchanging gold. You’ll need Pale Marks to use this system, and once you have enough of them, you can talk to the Bartering vendor and gain access to special gear, materials, and more. Here’s how to get started.

As mentioned before, you will need a unique currency (silver coins) called Pale Marks in order to trade with a special group: The Pale Hand Mercenaries.
Make sure to level up your Mercenaries and your Rapport with them even more for a better quality of items available for trade. There are two bartering upgrades for each Mercenary and they can be unlocked at Rapport levels 5 and 8.
