It happens. You see an enticing ad for the iPhone 12 or get sucked into the latest Samsung Galaxy and make a decision to switch. While switching ecosystems is not uncommon, migrating from one ecosystem to another isn’t the easiest task, especially if you’re migrating from iPhone to Android or vice versa. There’s an incompatibility at an almost fundamental level, with both Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android running on completely different code bases and not wanting users to switch in the first place.
How to Transfer WhatsApp Messages from Old Android Phone to New Android Phone (Free & Fast)
While ecosystems aren’t necessarily super accommodating, individual apps running on both can make the transition easier, which is exactly what the new WhatsApp feature hopes to do. So, what is the new feature that allows you to transfer chat history between WhatsApp on Android and WhatsApp on iPhone? Here’s everything you need to know.
According to WABetainfo, a new feature is in development to enable multi-device usage i.e. use WhatsApp on multiple devices and more importantly link WhatsApp between iOS and Android mobile devices. A future update will also enable migration of chat history between iOS and Android.
Until now, only a few third-party apps like WhatsApp Plus and GB WhatsApp could allow this kind of migration. However, such apps are unofficial and thus violate WhatsApp’s Terms of Service. In the future, the update that is currently in development will be able to automatically perform chat migration from WhatsApp itself.
