The Trial of Ancestors League is now underway in Path of Exile. The league mechanic this time around is an auto battler with collectible warriors fighting against enemy NPC teams. To get started, you’ll need to collect an item known as Silver Coins, which can be found from the Mud Flats. This league mechanic is quite complex and took me a while to get the hang of.
PoE Trial of the Ancestors Mechanics Guide
From the first Mud Flats, you can start finding Silver Coins. For those who have been playing PoE for a while, you may recognize both the Silver Coin item and the NPC who asks for it: Navali. She was a huge part of Prophecy League all the way back in 2016. Silver Coins are picked up randomly as drops from enemies and chests. With the first coin collected, you can start interacting with the auto-chess battler found in the Halls of the Dead.
There are ten tribes in total in Trial of the Ancestors, not including Navali's "Tribe" of generic units that can also be purchased. You start each Trial with three generic Karui warriors in your team. When you take on a challenger and win, you earn favors from opposing teams. Each team has at least three teams to battle with, a main NPC to buy and sell from, and a unique one that can be earned in auto battle.
