Cell Phone vs. Steel Wool I How Your iPhone Is Damaging Your Brain
Take the case of the iPhone 11 Pro that was recently found working after being submerged in a frozen Canadian lake for 30 days. According to experts, phone survival is a combination of luck and design.
“It’s common to think that cold and heat can play a role in the conditions, but the tolerances for electronics in those fields are so high that the biggest danger is the [permeable] nature of the device’s enclosure,” Derek Whitaker, marketing manager at rugged device maker Estone Technology, said in an email interview. “Preventing moisture from getting into your enclosure is the name of the game.”
Carriere isn't the only one surprised that his phone survived an unfortunate accident.
