Trueno talks about the success of his song "Real Gangsta Love" #trueno
By Ernesto Lechner
In the music video for 2021 hit "Dance Crip," Argentine rapper Trueno bikes, walks and dances through the soulful La Boca neighborhood of Buenos Aires. With a killer bass line, funky female choirs and the MC's breathtaking flow, "Dance Crip" established the 22-year-old as one of the most creative voices in emerging Latin hip-hop.
The son of Uruguayan-born MC Peligro, Trueno (real name Mateo Palacios Corazzina) won freestyle competitions as a teenager and gained momentum when his YouTube session with Argentine wunderkind producer Bizarrap went viral. He’s one of a triumphant new wave of Argentine rappers who’ve found global success in the past decade – from Cazzu and Nicki Nicole to Duki and Tiago PZK – and whose sound betrays inescapable trap and reggaetón influences.
