Twitch has rolled out new tools to detect suspicious users. The tools use machine learning to flag "likely" and "possible" accounts that could avoid a ban.
Alinity almost banned again #shorts
Plans to detect ban evasion were announced back in August, and nearly six months later, Twitch is rolling out Suspicious User Detection to all channels. According to the platform, the new tools should make it easier for streamers and moderators to catch and deal with new accounts from previously banned users.
Twitch acknowledges that some users will create a new account after being banned from a channel, only to re-enter the chat and continue their abusive behavior.
Suspicious User Detection uses machine learning to look for “signals” that help identify such accounts. It then flags the potential ban-evading accounts, leaving it up to streamers and their mods to decide how to deal with them.
