Twitter is reportedly working on a feature for users to prevent others from mentioning them in Tweets.
Twitter tests new 'unmention' feature
According to a tweet from Twitter product designer Dominic Camozzi on Monday, the potential feature is still in its early stages and is intended to help "manage unwanted attention." Camozzi said the feature would let you disengage from a tweet or conversation you don't want to be involved in, and let you turn off mentions for a period of time, such as one day or one week.
“Choose 'Remove yourself from this conversation' from the 'More information' menu and the link to your profile will be removed,” he wrote.
He added that if someone you don't follow mentions you with the @ symbol, you'll get a notification and can remove yourself if you want. That user will then no longer be able to mention you.
