Twitter is testing a new feature designed to help you delay retweeting an article. If a user hasn’t opened an article on Twitter before hitting the Retweet button, the service can send them a prompt to open it first.

Twitter says: "Sharing an article can spark conversation, so you may want to read it before you tweet it," wrote @TwitterSupport. "To encourage informed discussion, we're testing a new prompt on Android: If you retweet an article that you haven't opened on Twitter yet, we may ask if you want to open it first."
How to get it: The feature is currently only available on Android, but if it proves useful, it will likely come to iOS as well.
Bottom line: It seems like a no-brainer that you’d want to know more about an article than just the (potentially inflammatory) headline before you send it to all your Twitter followers, but let’s face it: we’ve all done it. At least now we get a little reminder to actually open it first.
