Ubisoft is coming out with even more Assassin's Creed games, but not all of the games will be new.
The evolution of Altair's outfit in Assassins Creed Games (2007 – 2023)
In a recent interview with Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, the future of the Assassin's Creed franchise was the main topic of conversation. While touting the upcoming Assassin's Creed Shadows and talking about how evolving technology and gameplay variety will shape future releases, Guillemot briefly mentioned that remakes of some older Assassin's Creed games are in the works.
"First of all, players can be excited about some remakes, which allow us to revisit and modernize some of the games we've made in the past," Guillemot said. "There are worlds in some of our older Assassin's Creed games that are still extremely rich."
Guillemot's confirmation of remakes lines up with previous rumors that a remake of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag was in development by Skull and Bones developer Ubisoft Singapore. Naval combat game Skull and Bones didn't make much of a splash when it released back in February, but it did spark a resurgence of interest in Black Flag on Steam. Given that both games focus heavily on naval combat, and Black Flag is one of the most critically acclaimed entries in the Assassin's Creed series, many players are likely thinking that a remake of it could be a good idea.
