Like most major wireless carriers in the U.S., Metro by T-Mobile (formerly MetroPCS) no longer charges per-minute roaming fees for domestic accounts. Instead, Metro by T-Mobile service spans the entire T-Mobile network nationwide. If you find yourself in a location outside of the company’s coverage area, you’ll automatically be switched to a T-Mobile carrier partner’s network, giving you connectivity outside of the T-Mobile network.
Metro by T-Mobile offers several domestic service packages, all of which do not charge per-minute roaming fees within the national coverage area or on T-Mobile partner networks.
Metro by T-Mobile plans don’t require a contract, so it’s easy to switch to a plan that makes more sense for you and your family. Popular Metro by T-Mobile plans include a 10GB plan for $40 per month and an unlimited data plan for $50 per month (you get discounts when you add lines).
While you won't experience per-minute roaming charges within your national coverage area with Metro by T-Mobile plans, you may incur roaming charges when traveling internationally. International roaming is available with Metro by T-Mobile due to partnership agreements between T-Mobile and certain international carriers. International roaming charges vary, and fees can quickly add up.
