The science fiction fantasy game Runa has exceeded all expectations, reaching both its original goal and its first target, just 24 hours after its launch on Kickstarter.
Persona fans will be excited about this
Runa is made by Fennec Studios with classic JRPG games as inspiration. It is set in the world of Akasha, which has elements of both Sci-Fi and fantasy and has a somewhat nostalgic turn-based combat system.
The environments are varied and include ancient ruins, vast fields and brightly colored cities. Runa has a day and night cycle and a weather system, allowing players to experience the environment in a variety of conditions. I'm a big fan of the urban environments, as they're a nice mix of retro and futuristic.
I found the base mechanics particularly exciting. As you recruit more characters and complete quests, you can add new buildings and rooms to the base. Some of these areas, like the farm, have their own mini-games. This makes building a base a nice mix of both fun and functionality.
