People who spend a large portion of their day reading emails on a screen tend to quickly scan the text and skip large portions of it. However, using bullets and numbered lists with short text items to separate information from the rest of the email with blank lines can help keep the reader’s attention. Bullets make your emails easier to read and ensure that the most important points are noticed.
If your email program or service supports sending messages in HTML format, you can create a bulleted list as follows:
Open a new email message and enter the recipient's name and a subject. Begin typing the message as usual.
From the toolbar, select Insert Bullet List. This can be located at the top of the screen or at the bottom of the compose window.
