Have you ever wished that a particular window could be docked on top of all the others? Or that you could see through a window to what’s behind it? A free, open-source Windows utility called MenuTools lets you do that and more.

Once you install the program, you just need to right-click on the bar at the top of any window and you’ll find more options. My personal favorite is the ability to make any window transparent. This is useful occasionally, probably, but most of the time I find it neat.
You can also pin any window to the top, a feature that has a much more obvious use. For example, you can pin a notebook to the top while a video is playing in full screen. This combines well with the transparency, you can still see a little bit of what's happening behind your note window.
And there is one more feature: the ability to minimize any window to the system tray instead of the taskbar. Many applications offer such a feature, but with MenuTools you can apply it to any application. This is perfect if you want to run an application in the background without it taking up visual space in your workflow.
