Your computer’s background is beautiful, but there’s one problem: the ugly white taskbar is covering part of it, or worse, clashing with it. The free and open-source application TranslucentTB is a great way to fix that. It’s resource-efficient and allows you to customize your taskbar in just a few clicks. After installation, TranslucentTB will run from the system tray. Click on the icon and you will see the options.
This may seem like a lot, but don’t be overwhelmed: start by selecting an effect from the Desktop submenu. For Windows 11 users, there are four different effects. There’s Normal, the default, which makes no changes: you just get the standard Windows 11 taskbar.
Next up is Opaque, which makes the taskbar a single color. You can choose the color using the Accent Color option in the same menu. Here’s an ugly blue color I chose for some reason:
