If you, like most VALORANT players, are tired of being tormented by Cypher’s invincible traps, Patch 8.08 finally brings some good news. With Episode Eight, Act Two, Riot Games has added some much-needed balance changes to the sentinel’s kit, blunting his dominance for good.
Valorant New Patch 8.08 (Viper Nerf, Cypher Nerf)
Starting with VALORANT Patch 8.08, Cypher’s Trapwires will take longer to rearm after being triggered, and the Slow effect will be applied for a shorter period of time than before. Additionally, his Spy Cam will play a noticeable audio cue whenever Cypher uses it to spy on enemies. Well, Riot clearly heard what the community had to say about the Moroccan spy not getting enough play.
For those wondering, here's what the patch notes say about Cypher:
"Since his updates in 7.09, we've been excited to see Cypher cement a stronger place on the Sentinel roster, but we feel like his slowing power has been pushed further than we'd like for an Agent specializing in global intel," Riot explained in the patch notes. "Additionally, we've seen play patterns around Spycam (E) that don't provide any counterplay for the enemy team."
