Not all VALORANT updates are about huge content drops; mid-act updates tend to focus on impactful QoL changes and crucial bug fixes. Patch 9.01 does just that, delivering a slew of game mode and weapon updates, as well as an exciting new esports feature and a slate of bug fixes. If you’re playing VALORANT on console, there are some major exclusive changes to look forward to with this patch, so buckle up.

Patch 9.01 removes the chaotic Escalation mode due to a bug. Don’t worry, though, that it will suffer a similar fate to the much-missed Replication mode. Escalation will return to the game with Patch 9.03 once Riot Games addresses the bug in question.
