Iso's popularity has skyrocketed among VALORANT agents after a massive buff, and players have discovered an unexpected interaction between his ultimate ability and Clove's.

CLOVE Mythbusting | Agent Interactions and Game Mechanics

Ever since VALORANT Patch 8.11 buffed Iso, the duelist has been played a lot more, to the point where some believe it’s ruining the game. Only his Double Tap ability has changed, but this also indirectly buffed his Kill Contract ultimate. Now that Iso can instantly activate his Double Tap shield without needing a kill first, he has an even greater advantage in winning a one-on-one duel in his ultimate. That’s exactly what one Iso player did in a clip shared to a Reddit thread on June 17, except what came next is pretty bizarre.

In the clip, Iso pulled Clove into another dimension with his ultimate just as they were about to enter B-Site. Using his shield advantage, Iso won the isolated duel and killed Clove. However, the newest agent immediately followed up with his own ultimate, Not Dead Yet, to come back to life. Normally, Clove would simply come back to life where he died, but Iso's ultimate put a strange twist on the whole situation. Since Iso's ultimate essentially removes the two players from the map, you might be wondering where the immortal agent with his ultimate would be resurrected.

Intuitively, it would make sense for Clove to return to where they left off, where Iso’s ultimate grabbed them. To everyone’s surprise, they were instead teleported all the way back to the attacker’s spawn, away from the action. This is almost the worst-case scenario, as Clove’s ultimate requires them to chase down a fight and get a kill or damage assist. If they don’t do so within a short period of time, they’ll die again. Returning to the spawn actually seemed like a waste of an ultimate, as the enemy was likely somewhere closer to one of the sites or halfway there.
