VALORANT Patch 8.11 is one of the busiest updates in the game’s recent history. With a plethora of changes coming to duelists and a new map to enjoy, opinions among the playerbase have been heated over which tweaks made it in and which didn’t, including some controversial changes to Iso.
The ISO changes are ruining Valorant
In Patch 8.11, Iso received some major buffs to his Double Tap ability, which gives him a shield that absorbs damage from any source once. Previously, he needed to get one kill to spawn an orb, which he had to break to get the shield. Now, he can instantly activate one charge of his shield at any time without needing a kill.
As a result, players are faced with multiple Iso players randomly jumping into combat at the start of a round with no consequences, sparking a huge debate over whether or not the agent is healthy for the game. Caster and analyst Sean Gares, for example, has been very vocal about how Iso is “ruining VALORANT” with how destructive he can be on multiple levels.
"Iso is ridiculously strong and breaks a lot of fundamental aspects of the game itself," Gares said on stream. "There are parts of me that think, 'Sean, stop being a boomer and accept change here,' but… this level of randomness with shields is so weird."
