Last night, Valve released its release notes (or notes, to be precise) for the latest CS2 update, which added just one feature. This is yet another instance where the developer has pushed out a small-scale patch for CS2, with each patch receiving more attention than the last.
ZywOo's USP is unstoppable
The CS2 release note(s) for May 22nd only mention one graphics feature, AMD Anti-Lag 2, and literally nothing else. This follows a number of other updates for CS2 that contain little to no real changes or additions to the game. The positive side of these situations is always that there is likely a larger patch in the works and on the way, and Valve is just releasing something to fill the schedule. However, players once again have no idea what to make of these patches, as hundreds of them expressed in a Reddit thread on May 23rd.
One player noted that it has been almost 1,000 days since Counter-Strike last had an operation. “There are so many players who play CS who have never played in an operation,” they said, which left them baffled as operations used to be launched frequently. These types of updates rip open players’ wounds and make them think back to the “good old days” when CS:GO got massive, consistent updates and operations, and when single patch note releases were rare.
“Dota 2 got a patch note that was equivalent to a whole new game and this is what we got,” wrote another disgruntled player. Valve’s flagship MOBA is currently undergoing a months-long event and recently received a substantial update that overhauls several of the game’s systems.
