Final Fantasy fans can rejoice, because Vincent Valentine is finally playable in the Final Fantasy franchise after nearly two decades. The beloved character returns in a new chapter in Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis, as announced by Square Enix.

Vincent Valentine is definitely not a techie | Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

For those who don’t know, Vincent Valentine is one of the most recognizable characters in the Final Fantasy series. He first appeared in the original Final Fantasy 7 in 1997, as an optional member of the party. He was the main protagonist of the 2006 shooter Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy 7 (and its accompanying mobile phone tie-in), marking the first and only time fans were able to play as the iconic character. But it wasn’t his last appearance in the series, as he made an appearance in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (initially as a boss). Now, Square Enix has announced that he’ll finally be making his return as a playable character in Ever Crisis in Chapter 7 of the game, due out this July.

This is certainly big news in the Final Fantasy community, as Vincent Valentine has become a beloved character in the series. His iconic red cloak and unique abilities are just a few of the reasons why fans of the series fell in love with him. In Ever Crisis, Vincent will look more like his character in Dirge of Cerberus and Advent Children, according to Tetsuya Nomura. Since Ever Crisis is based on the various FF7 titles, there's a good chance that we'll see the events of Dirge of Cerberus with a new and improved coat of paint.
