No matter how big your Warband needs to be in Wartales, the right mix of the seven classes is key to success. So whether you go big or small, read on for my Wartales class tier list, which ranks every class in the game.
WARRIOR | BEST BUILDING GUIDE | HEAVIEST DIFFICULTY | Wartales
It’s important to note that the best class in Wastales depends on whether you go Adaptive or Region-locked. When playing in adaptive mode, you can build a party of a size that suits your playstyle, while in region-locked you’ll need to slowly build up your party to meet the tougher demands of larger parties.
I also want to note here that there is no such thing as a 'best' class in Wartlaes, as it's all about getting the best synergy in your party that suits your playstyle. However, it's also fair to say that not all classes are created equal. These are my personal preferences after playing all of the game's content (including the DLC). Finally, if you have a large party, it's worth taking every class to ensure you can take advantage of all of the legendary weapons you find, as they are all class-specific.
In a warband of 20+ units I only have one archer. He’s been there since the beginning of my campaign and does his job, but I’ve never felt like he won me a fight. The archer is the only real ranged unit in Wartales, but this is less of an issue in a game where you can cover distances quickly. They’re always squishy, deal average damage, and have a set of specials that are usually condition-dependent. They’re also the type of unit most likely to hit their teammates, so they’re a bit of a burden.
