You may not have known it was still in production, but the ultra-low-cost Chevy Spark is going away. At $14,595 including destination charge, the Spark was one of the few vehicles not to break the $20,000 barrier.
We have had an electric car for 3 years now, was it worth it?
As production of the small car slows, the average cost of a new vehicle in the United States has skyrocketed to a bank-busting $47,000. Supply chain constraints have affected the price of a new vehicle, but it’s not like it was before the pandemic, when the average cost of a new car was falling.
This situation is particularly prevalent in the electric vehicle (EV) sector. With the exception of two vehicles, the Nissan Leaf and the Mini SE, it is unlikely that an EV under $30,000 will break the 200-mile barrier anytime soon.
That’s a huge blow to the plan to get more drivers behind the wheel of electric cars. The reality is that many working families who can only afford one vehicle would be better off with a gas-powered car that can handle all their tasks.
