Every year, Google spoils us with major system overhauls that improve Android’s performance, security features, and much more. While many of us are still waiting for the Android 11 update to hit our phones, Google is now gearing up to roll out its successor in Android 12.

The first Android 12 Developer Preview has yet to release, but a batch of leaked images (obtained by XDA-Developers) give us a taste of what to expect from the next major Android update. One of those alleged upgrades comes in the form of Conversation Widgets. Here's everything we know about them so far.

Android 11 introduced a “Conversations” tab below the notification bar. While that’s still there (as seen in the leaked screenshots), we can also see a new widget section that gives quick access to your conversations.

Folks over at XDA have revealed that the conversations widget will most likely be a mandatory feature of Android 12, regardless of which skins are applied. This means that OEMs should be prepared to include it in their own custom skins.
