Ogre Horn, originally known as the Lump's War Horn in Baldur's Gate 3, is one of the most useful pieces of equipment you'll find in all three Acts. While it has some limitations, this horn can be quite useful in the early game. Since it can't be used outside of Act 1 Areas and isn't really a reusable tool, you'll want to use it with caution.

It’s important to note that the Ogre Horn doesn’t work in areas like the Underdark, Grymforge, and Mountain Pass. These locations are outside of the Act 1 areas, and are also out of Horn’s range. As such, the Ogre won’t spawn if you blow the horn in Act 2 or Act 3. With that in mind, here are the battles we consider to be the best places to use the Ogre Horn, or Lump War’s Horn in Baldur’s Gate 3:
While in the Goblin Camp, you will find yourself surrounded by a lot of hostile Goblins right after you choose Halsin’s side. You can clear out all the Goblins by yourself, so I think it’s better to use the Ogre Horn against bigger enemies. The three Goblin Leaders – Minthara, Dror Ragzlin, and Priestess Gut will give you a hard time clearing out the Goblin Camp. While you can defeat Minthara and Priestess Gut, Dror Ragzlin is quite hard to defeat.
