Twitter, as you probably already know, is one of the most popular social networking sites in the world. At its core, it can come across as a bit limiting, mainly because of its 280-character limit — which is still double the original 140 characters. Yet, despite the great “inconvenience,” millions of users log on to Twitter every day and share their thoughts via tweets all day long. Even though the number of characters has doubled, the “old folks” are still stuck in the old habits and abbreviations. As you may know, your Facebook — or other service — profile picture is often referred to as a “Display Picture.” We’re not sure exactly why “DP” caught on and other things didn’t. All we know is that “DP” is currently the standard abbreviation for all profile pictures on Facebook and other services.
Changing display pictures or 'DNs' is not very common on Twitter. However, there is a way to change the 'Display Name' or 'DN'. Just like your 'DP', 'DN' is also a big part of your Twitter account.
