Creature collection adventure RPG Yaoling Mythical Journey may look cute and casual on the surface, but dig deeper and you’ll find a surprising level of complexity. There are several types of currency, including the mysterious Heart Stones, so read on to find out what they do.
Yaoling: Mythical Travel Guide | What are Heart Stones?
You can spend Heart Stones at the Jade Tree (individually or in sets of 10) to receive random blessings. Blessings come in many forms and include common and rare materials, Talents (including Jaded Talents), upgrade materials (such as Starsilver Dust), and even Yaoling Eggs. Each Heart Stone gives you one reward and they are always valuable items (even if it's just a Ruby or Amethyst).
Unfortunately, before you can access the Jade Tree (in the northern corner of the village, above), you’ll need to help repair it by completing the Home of the Yaolings quest (see below). Once the quest is complete, the Jade Tree will appear in the village (see above), and you can trade Heart Stones with it as you earn them. I prefer to wait until I have 10 Heart Stones to get that awesome list of goodies, but it doesn’t seem to affect the RNG (or the amount) of rewards you receive.
You’ll start working on earning Heart Stones from the moment you start battling in Yaoling Mythical Journey. Every time you complete a battle, you’ll be presented with a Victory screen that shows how much XP each yaoling has earned and whether or not they’ve leveled up. If you look above their heads, you’ll also see a +1 heart above some yaolings. They’ll now like you a little more, as their Intimacy level has increased.
