The First Descendant contains a lot of unique phrases and abbreviations, such as DBNO, that confuse new players as there is no guide or explanation as to what they mean, even though they are quite important terms.
What does that "DPS" number mean? | The First Descendant
This is what DBNO means in The First Descendant and why it's important.
In The First Descendant, DBNO stands for "Down But Not Out." Essentially, it refers to the state where you've been downed by damage and can crawl, albeit very slowly. In this state, you're not dead. Instead, you have a limited amount of time for your allies to heal you. Once this timer runs out, you're forced to respawn.
If you’ve played other shooters like Apex Legends or Rainbow Six Siege, the DBNO status in The First Descendant will seem quite familiar to you. What sets this status apart in The First Descendant is that it grants gear that can modify this status, which makes all the difference when you’re going up against more formidable opponents.
