Microsoft has ended support for Cortana. If it’s still available on your computer, you’ll see a message like this when you try to use it: Cortana in Windows as a standalone app is deprecated. Microsoft recommends other personal assistant tools instead, described below.

Windows 11 still includes Cortana, but it’s not working at the time of writing. You can launch the standalone app, but you’ll get a message that it’s out of date.

This is intentional as Microsoft has ended support for the app. See their support page for more information: Cortana End of Support.

While Cortana is dead, similar features are available through other tools that are also free for Windows 11.
