Disk Defragmenter Not Working Windows 7/8/10
In Windows 8 and Windows 10, a few features from Windows 7 have had their names changed. For example, Windows Anytime Upgrade is now called Add features to Windows 8/10. Disk Defragmenter has now been renamed to Optimize Disk. I'm not sure why the name changes were necessary, but if you search for something in Windows 8/10 and can't find it, it's probably because the name changed.
In Windows 8, you can open the Charms bar and search for Optimize Drives. Fortunately, you can still search for disk defragmenter and the correct function will load.
In Windows 10, when you click Start and type defragment or optimize, the Defragment and optimize drives link appears.
