CRDOWNLOAD files: what are they and how do I open them?
CRDOWNLOAD is a temporary file extension used by the Chrome web browser. Files with this extension are called Chrome Partial Download files, so if you see one, it means the file wasn't completely downloaded.
Partial downloads are caused by Chrome still downloading the file or the download process was interrupted and it is therefore only a partial, incomplete file.
If the CRDOWNLOAD file extension is in use because Chrome is actively downloading something, the '.crdownload' portion is typically removed automatically once the download is complete.
