What is the Creeper in Minecraft?
The original creeper was introduced in Minecraft on August 31, 2009. Video game programmer Notch accidentally changed the length and height of a pig and reversed the numbers. He ended up with a pig that was skinny and tall instead of short and fat. He was gray-green and had no name.
Notch was so taken with the bug that he decided to implement it into the game and create a new enemy group.
The creeper was given life with a shade of green and a scary face to make players shiver with fear! Creepers are aggressive by nature and will spawn more actively at night (or in an area with light levels lower than 8).
