This article describes what a DJVU file is, how to open it, and what programs can convert it to a more common format such as PDF or MOBI.
Developed by AT&T Labs, a DJVU file (pronounced déjà vu) is a graphics file format intended for scanned images. It is somewhat similar to the PDF format, which you are probably more familiar with.
Because a DJVU file can contain compressed, yet high-quality color images, photos, text and drawings, it is used as a format for some e-books, as well as for manuals, newspapers, old documents, etc. that have been scanned into a computer.
DjVu files can have the file extension .DJVU or .DJV.
