Wordle has stuck its jaws into pop culture and it doesn’t look like it’s going away anytime soon. At least not until people get tired of sharing their results on social media. But if you’re new to Wordle and don’t want to post an average score and pretend you did great, it’s high time you understand what the colored boxes in Wordle’s score mean and what a good Wordle score looks like.
A good Wordle SCORE!
Wondering why all your friends on Facebook and Twitter share these little, randomly aligned cubes every day? Wondering why some only have one or two rows, while others have six? Well, that's because those rows represent the number of tries it took them to guess the word correctly.
Each row has colored squares, 5 in each row. A green square means the letter is in the right place. A yellow square tells you the letter is in the word, but in a different place. Gray tiles, however, indicate that the letter does not belong in the word at all.
The number of rows in the score indicates how many attempts the user needed to guess the word correctly.
