An 8x magnification or higher scope is how MW3 defines “extreme,” and that’s all you really need to know about it. The word extreme is what makes the difference here, as it removes attachments like Red Dot and Holographic from the equation, and you’ll need to zoom in extremely close on enemies to get kills to complete your challenges.
