A POST error message is an error that is displayed on the monitor during the boot self-test if the BIOS encounters a problem while starting up the PC.
WARNING! BIOS Error Messages – Troubleshooting (Solution)
It is only displayed on the screen if the computer is able to boot up to this point. If an error is detected before this point, a beep or POST code is generated instead.
POST error messages are usually quite descriptive and will give you enough information to begin troubleshooting the problem the POST found.
If you see POST errors, the problem is likely related to a hardware failure. A stall at this step in the boot process means that the computer has not even loaded the operating system yet, so POST errors are not related to Windows, macOS, or Linux.
