How to Convert a Slideshow File (PPS) to a PowerPoint File (PPT)
A file with the PPSM file extension is a slide show with macros created with Microsoft PowerPoint. By default, they open in Slide Show view to start the presentation immediately. The format uses a combination of XML and ZIP to store the content.
PPSM files are the replacement for the PPS files used in PowerPoint 2003 and older.
PPSM files can be opened with PowerPoint, but only if it is version 2007 or later. To open one in an older version of PowerPoint, the free Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack must be installed.
