When you’re away from a Wi-Fi hotspot and need to connect to your office network, use an AirCard with your laptop to access the Internet. AirCards provide Internet access wherever you might use a mobile phone.

An AirCard is a wireless modem that connects mobile devices to the Internet via cellular networks. AirCards provide Internet access from laptops that are out of range of Wi-Fi hotspots. They can also be used as an alternative to dial-up Internet access at home in rural areas or areas without high-speed Internet service.
AirCards typically require a contract with a mobile provider, in addition to an existing mobile subscription.
Historically, mobile network service providers typically bundled compatible wireless modems with their service contracts, and sometimes under a different name. For example, in the US, AT&T and Verizon used products from Sierra Wireless, although they were called AT&T AirCard and Verizon AirCard. AirCards are still available from major vendors such as Netgear and Sierra Wireless.
