This article describes what an F4V file is, how to open this file on your computer or phone, and how to convert this file to a format compatible with your device or software, such as MP4, AVI, MP3, or MOV.
Convert F4V to MP4
A file with the file extension F4V is a Flash MP4 Video file, sometimes also called an MPEG-4 Video file, which is based on the Apple QuickTime container format. It is similar to the MP4 format.
This format is also similar to FLV, but since FLV format has some limitations with H.264/AAC content, Adobe developed F4V as an upgrade. However, F4V does not support all video and audio codecs in FLV format, such as Nellymoser, Sorenson Spark, and Screen.
F4P is another Adobe Flash format, but it is used to store DRM-protected MPEG-4 video data. The same goes for Adobe Flash Protected Audio files, which use the .F4A file extension.
