The Ctrl+Alt+Del key combination is most commonly used in the context of the Windows operating system, although others use the shortcut for other things.
To run this command, hold down the Ctrl and Alt keys at the same time and then press the Del key.
If Ctrl+Alt+Del is executed before Windows is at a point where it can intercept the command, BIOS will simply reboot the computer. It can also reboot the computer while in Windows if Windows has locked up in some way. For example, pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del during the Power On Self Test will reboot the computer.
