Google Nest is the company's line of smart home devices. In addition to the Nest Learning Thermostat, the line includes the Nest Hello Doorbell, Nest Hub, and Nest Cam.
EVERYTHING you can do with Google Nest Hub
In 2014, Google acquired Nest, expanding the company’s Internet of Things portfolio. Since then, Nest has become a household name, largely due to the ease of use of its smart devices. The company officially rebranded Nest as Google Nest in mid-2019.
The Nest Learning Thermostat, which comes with different colored rings to match your home’s interior, has an easy-to-read display. It can automatically control your heating and hot water. In just a week, the thermostat learns how warm or cold you want your home to be during the day. It raises the temperature when you’re home, and lowers it when you’re away, ultimately saving you energy.
The device monitors your activity and creates a schedule based on this data. It turns your heating down at night and up in the morning, so you wake up to a warm home. When you leave for work, the Nest thermostat detects your absence using sensors and your smartphone’s location and sets itself to Eco Temperatures to save energy.
