Google’s Call Screen feature lets you see who’s calling and why. With Call Screen, Google Assistant can answer your phone calls and display a transcript of the request in real time. You can choose to tell the caller you’re not available, ask for more information, or pick up the call once you know it’s a legitimate caller you want to talk to.

To use Google Call Screen, make sure you have the latest version of the Phone app installed on your compatible Android phone. Call Screen is available in the US, Canada, Australia, and more countries.

The call screening feature rolled out in October 2018 with the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3XL. It's an automated feature that gives your Google Assistant the ability to screen calls from numbers you don't recognize.

Call Screen has emerged amidst the persistent robocalls and spam calls. It is an easy way to answer a call from a number you do not recognize without any interaction if the caller is spam or a scam call.
