YouTube Premium is leveling up with a new AI-powered feature called Jump Ahead. Here’s everything you need to know about the new feature.
Want to skip forward or back 10 seconds in a YouTube video?
As the name suggests, this allows you to jump from the boring parts of a video to the fun parts.
Here’s how it works: When you’re watching a video and double-tap to fast-forward, a “Jump Ahead” button will appear in the bottom right corner. Tap it and YouTube will automatically skip over the parts of the video that people would normally fast-forward through, letting you jump straight to the next interesting part.
YouTube says Jump Ahead uses a combination of artificial intelligence and aggregated viewer behavior data to determine which parts of a video are less engaging. So the more people skip a certain part, the more likely Jump Ahead is to skip right over it.
